Intrauterine Insemination

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) involves introducing sperm directly into the uterus, allowing natural fertilization to occur in the fallopian tubes, the way it happens during spontaneous pregnancy.
The IUI process begins with ovarian stimulation to produce 1 or 2 eggs. We monitor their growth and, at the optimal time, deposit the sperm into the uterus to facilitate fertilization.
The sperm used can be from your partner or a donor, depending on your needs.
This outpatient procedure is carried out in approximately 15 minutes and offers success rates oscillating between 15% to 20%
IUI may be right for you if:
- There is a mild sperm issue.
- Your partner has been diagnosed with retrograde ejaculation.
- You wish to use donor or cryopreserved sperm.
- The cause of infertility is unknown.
Before undergoing any Assisted Reproduction technique, consult with a fertility expert to determine the best option for you.
